History

Frank, Sammy & Dean – The Rat Pack – Live from Las Vegas first appeared at The Beck Theatre in Hayes in January 2000 with Louis Hoover as Frank, Peter Straker as Sammy and Michael Howe as Dean with Clive Carter taking over the role of Dean halfway through the tour. Straker, Hoover and Howe

The tour was a huge success so went back on the road in the Spring of 2001 with Louis Hoover once again playing Frank, Alex Bourne as Dean and George Long as Sammy.

The show took a break until August 2002 where it played in towns across the country until March 2003! This time, the show was looking a lot more like the show that was eventually to break box office records at The Strand Theatre! George Long reprised his role of Sammy, with Stephen Triffitt joining as Frank and Mark Adams as Dean

In the middle of this tour, the show had is first London run, albeit a short one! One week at the Peacock Theatre was enough to prove that the producers had a hit on their hands! With The Evening Standing saying “Two-and-a hours of vintage entertainment guaranteed” they knew that this was a West End Hit in the making!

So, at the end of the tour, after a week in Plymouth, The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas opened at the Theatre Royal Haymarket on 12th March 2002 to rave reviews and sell-out audiences!

Due to refurbishments at the Theatre Royal, the Pack’s new home was only ever going to be a short one. After 12 weeks the show transferred to it’s home of two years The Strand Theatre where it broke box office records. The show achieved the highest ever advance sales in one day, beating previous occupants The Buddy Holly Story and Victoria Wood to name just two hands down! Triffitt, Adams and Long

Sadly The Strand Theatre also had to undergo major refurbishments in the summer of 2005 so the Rat Pack was on the move yet again! This time, just down the road to the Savoy Theatre. Right next door to the hotel that Frank Sinatra himself favoured in his later years.

After once year at the Savoy, the rest of the world beckoned and The Pack left its London home to travel across Europe and the US where they played yet more sell out shows and continued to receive rave review.

But the West End wanted more! So in September 2009,The Rat Pack returned to London to play a 15 week run at the Adelphi Theatre with a separate production simultaneously touring the UK. The show moved seamlessly into The Christmas with The Rat Pack over the festive season. A UK tour followed in the spring of 2010, returning once again in the winter to celebrate Christmas in style with a UK tour including two performances at the prestigious Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

2011 sees the cast back, by popular demand playing 5 weeks at Wyndhams Theatre, touring the UK and a week in the US.

Since that first show in Hayes in January 2000, the show has played to audiences of well over 1million,  celebrated its 1000th consecutive West End performance and is due to set a new West End record when it opens at its eight West End Theatre.
